Do I qualify? Do I need to be evaluated?

Anyone with a desire to seriously address his or her substance abuse issues qualifies. Clients must be at least 18 years of age. An assessment will be made to see if our program is the best fit for you, simply call us at 877-762-3707.

Do you provide Detox services?

Yes, we offer sub-acute medical detoxification, providing 24/7 supervision for alcohol, opiates, cocaine, methamphetamines and benzodiazepines. Detox is offered only to clients who enroll in our 28 day program.

Do you accept insurance?

We accept PPO plans with private insurance policies.  Please call us at 877-762-3707, and we can assess your specific benefits and provide you with information about any out-of-pocket expenses that may occur.

How large is your rehab? Will I get individualized care?

We are a six bed, state licensed inpatient residential recovery center. The program offers custom care with a high staff to client ratio. The Lakehouse enjoys a lovely setting with private rooms.

Are pets allowed?

Yes, we are a pet-friendly facility. We take pets on a case-by-case basis. Clients are simply responsible for caring for and cleaning up after their pets once they are physically capable.

What services are offered at The Lakehouse?

Our program offers a comprehensive menu of therapeutic support including individual and group therapy, therapeutic workshops, relapse prevention counseling, family systems, yoga, fitness and more.

Are you a 12 Step facility?

The Lakehouse advocates 12 step programs, with in-house AA panels, 12 step workshops and meetings on the boat.  However, 12-step program is not mandatory, and we are open to other methods. Ours is a program of attraction; we ask new clients to keep an open mind, whatever road they choose to take.

I have strict dietary needs. What kind of food service do you provide?

We offer food plans to fit everyone’s needs.  All food is home-cooked by full-time chefs. We understand the value of nutrition and comfort in recovery.

Can I use my mobile phone or laptop?

With engagement and compliance, these privileges are returned to clients in stages over the four-week period.  Supervised House calls and limited computer use is allowed on a case-by-case basis until then.

How many staff members at The Lakehouse? Are psychiatric services available?

We have 22 staff members, not including our clinical team of psychologists and counselors. Psychiatric services are resourced to all clients at The Lakehouse.  Staff is available at all times, 24 hours, 7 days a week. Doctors are on-call and available 24/7 as well. Psychiatric evaluations and medication management are available to all clients as needed.

Do you have a gym or recreational programs?

Yes, we have a gym membership at the Spectrum Club and Spa in Thousand Oaks. They offer comprehensive services, pools, saunas, massages, and classes. On site we have yoga on our lakeside dock as well as kayaking, bass fishing and stand-up paddle boarding. There are also lovely hiking trails nearby.  Horseback riding, surfing and guitar lessons are also electives.

What is a typical day at The Lakehouse?

Clients are asked to be up by 8:00am, unless they are detoxing. Rooms are to be cleaned before breakfast/morning meditation at 8:30am. Mid-morning schedules include group sessions. Clinical appointments or group/individual therapy take place in the afternoons following lunch. Free-time offers opportunities to meet with sponsors, 12-step work, utilize the gym, fish, boat, kayak or swim. Dinner is followed by panels, meetings and/or recreation (movies, ping pong, billiards, music and the like). Do you provide transportation?

Yes. We shuttle all clients to and from all clinical appointments and meetings off campus. For those clients who are flying into the Los Angeles area, we will arrange supervised transportation to and from the airport.

Do you drug test?

Yes. We drug test and/or breathalyze regularly and randomly.

Our family has been torn apart by our loved one’s substance abuse crisis. What should we do?

The Lakehouse Recovery Center recognizes the importance of working with family and loved ones to begin the healing process for everyone. Family sessions are set up upon commencement of care for all those who request it.

What do I do after the 28 days? Is there an aftercare program?

Can we see The Lakehouse before making a decision?

All are welcome to visit our residential facility at The Lakehouse for a tour and consultation. Please call 877-762-3707 to make an appointment.

What Should I Bring With Me?
Here is a list of items we suggest to bring with you:
  • All medications you have been prescribed/are currently taking
  • toiletries (toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, soap, hair products, deodorant)
  • 3 days worth of clothing (including socks and undergarments)
  • Light sweater, sweatshirt or jacket
  • cigarettes/vapors
  • wallet
  • Swimsuit optional – must be modest
  • Cell phones are allowed but clients will not have access to them right away.
Items that are Not allowed:
  • drugs and/or paraphernalia
  • alcohol
  • weapons of any kind (including pocket knives) 
  • mouthwash that contains alcohol
